About Courtney Snieg (Haessly)
Courtney brings a wealth of knowledge and riding ability to her teaching and training. She has a well-rounded career and extensive teaching experience.
Before purchasing Fox Ridge Stable (formerly Oak Hill Farm) in September 2013, Courtney taught and trained full-time at Featherbrook Farm in Corcoran, Minnesota. Prior to working at Featherbrook Farm, Courtney was an instructor at Prairie Oaks Equestrian Centre in Edwardsville, Illinois, a suburb of St. Louis from 2005-2007.
Originally from Rochester, Minnesota, Courtney began riding as a young girl and has never looked back. As her passion for horses and riding grew, she found eventing to be her true love. After moving to St. Louis and Prairie Oaks Farm in 2004, she began teaching and learned from many local professionals. She developed her own curriculum and ran her own camps at Prairie Oaks, instructing and competing successfully with eventing students in Illinois and Missouri.
Courtney has a relaxed, fun and positive teaching style. She works well with all personality types and develops a confident rider. She has ridden with the following instructors: Bill Solyentjes, Christiana Borchert, Alison and Ken Larson, Susan Norman, Vicki Busch, Conrad Schumacher, Dolly Hannon, Rapheal Hileger, Jessica Jo Tate, Karen O’Connor, Buck Davidson, Jr., Martin Kuhn, and Gerhard Politz.
Courtney has started, trained and sold numerous horses while at Featherbrook and Prairie Oaks. Her calm, patient style is very welcome with the horses and they learn to trust the rider from the start. She gives them the proper classical foundation and is not afraid to take them outside on the
trail. The end result is a sensitive and well-started horse.
